Combining an extensive background in Furniture Merchandising with experience as a Corporate Trainer and College Instructor, Pat is extremely effective at helping her clients address today’s merchandising and marketing challenges and in coaching others to maximize performance. 

Pat’s career in retailing includes over 15 years of merchandising as a Senior Buyer in Case Goods, Bedding and Upholstery for several major retailers, including 11 years with Federated Department Stores, where, in addition to her merchandising responsibilities, she functioned as  a trainer and buyer coach. 

As Manager of Training for a national chain store, Pat developed programs on Merchandising;  Assortment Planning;  Inventory Control and Open-to-Buy Management, along with Supply Chain Management and systems training.  

Pat’s expertise includes assortment planning and category management; vendor negotiations; marketing and sales promotion as well as gross margin and inventory control.  She is highly skilled at training others to understand and manage the financial aspects of a business. 

Throughout her career, Pat has worked with IT and technical teams to develop analytical and reporting tools for merchandising and supply-chain teams.   She is adept at functioning as a liaison between the business and technical sides of an organization, and in training non-technical personnel in the use of technology to improve merchandising performance.

Prior to joining Profitability Consulting, Pat taught Retail Merchandising, Marketing and Consumer Behavior courses at Sinclair College in Ohio. She currently teaches business and Microsoft Office classes as part of the continuing education program at York Technical College in South Carolina. 

For  10 years she owned and operated a business providing display and point-of-purchase materials to the furniture and mattress industries, which gives her a unique insight into the challenges facing independent business owners. 

Pat earned her B.A. at Capital University in Ohio, and is currently working on her M.B.A. She is a member of American Society of Training and Development.
